As well as this we follow a programme for adult learners which prepares them for the Key Skills Exams 1,2 and 3 and GCCSE.
We also help those adults and children who are learning English as a foreign language and a specific course has been designed to this end.
Maths at Stepping Stones Tutors is applied at four distinct stages: Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3 and GCSE. We follow government guidelines as to assessment and progress for each year group in calculating, using and applying maths, understanding shapes and measures and handling data. As well as this we follow a program for adult learners which prepares them for key skills 1, 2, 3 and GCSE.
IT & Computing
IT skills are now an essential part of everyday life, and therefore a vital part of school life too. Up to the end of Key Stage 3, lessons are hands-on, using the same software children will be using at school. At GCSE, and more particularly at A level, there are both practical and theory elements to be covered. Our courses cover both aspects, and are tailored to the needs of your child and to the requirements of the examining board and specification they are following.
We also provide tuition for adults who need some help with their IT skills to improve their career prospects. In addition, we have courses for older people who have missed out on the IT revolution and would like to learn how to get set up with and use a computer at home.
